Hi,
I'd like to know if, for applications for PhDs and scientific jobs,
It's necessary to use the original letter of recommendation (I have
only a copy of it, from my prof) or it's possible to use copies of it
to submit to multiple applications.
thank you.

You can use copies.

The hiring manager will probably contact your reference-giver anyway,
just to confirm that he wrote that reference.
